Conformal coating material is applied to electronic circuitry to act as protection against moisture, dust, chemicals and temperature extremes that if uncoated (non-protected) could result in a complete failure of the electronic system. We know that all parts cannot be covered with this coating and can develop dedicated fixtures that take all the time and effort out of hand masking. Just insert the PCB into the bottom plate, close the top plate, and spray away. It is as easy as that.
